The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), with support from Independent Diplomat (ID) and funding from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is implementing a six-month initiative in 2026 to strengthen community engagement in policymaking and promote evidence-based solutions to legal, social, and economic challenges in Jordan.
The initiative brings together community members, civil society organizations, experts, and decision-makers to develop practical policy recommendations on issues including access to justice, social protection, healthcare, employment, child protection, juvenile justice, migration, and displacement. Approximately 150 participants are expected to engage in dialogue sessions and policy labs, with a focus on the meaningful participation of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Key activities include:
- Multi-stakeholder policy dialogues and policy labs.
- Community engagement in policy discussions and recommendation development.
- Production of evidence-based policy briefs and recommendations.
- Leveraging ARDD-led platforms and networks, including the Human and Economic Development Forum (HEDF), the National Alliance for the Future of Education (NAFE), the Jordan International Cooperation Forum (JICOF), and the Forum for Supporting the Justice Sector.
Through this initiative, ARDD seeks to contribute to Jordan’s reform and modernization efforts by strengthening participatory governance, improving access to justice and services, and amplifying the voices of vulnerable communities in public policy processes.
