Putting Needs Over Nationalities

يوم الأحد, آذار 1, 2015

Enclosed is a brief paper that voices the perspectives and concerns of ARDD’s Somali and Sudanese beneficiaries. The paper’s methodology is not robust. Given its objectives, it need not be. Many humanitarian actors are well aware of the fact that Somali and Sudanese refugees are among the most vulnerable. Thus, instead of comprehensively accounting for their demographics and needs, the paper calls for immediate action and, from its modest perspective, proposes key action points. As the Syrian Refugee Crisis enters its fifth year, bearing in mind the many nuanced dynamics of Jordanian context is all the more important. The country is home to refugees of 46 nationalities. The enclosed paper highlights the unique concerns of two just groups, but, in doing so, the paper calls for renewed efforts to treat all vulnerable individuals precisely as such – as individuals, irrespective of their nationalities or the size of their communities.
