The “Amaani – Strengthening Women’s Participation for Localization of UNSCR 1325” project is a 15-month initiative building on ARDD´s efforts since 2012, and its previous work with UN Women with the Jordan NGOs Forum (JONAF (to advance the localization of UNSCR 1325 in Jordan. It focuses on:

1. Enhancing understanding of women´s social justice issues and the local response to UNSCR 1325.
2. Strengthening the capacities and mobilization of local women-led and youth organizations to implement interventions under UNSCR 1325.
3. Establishing the Al-Nahda Women´s Studies Institute as part of ARDD Renaissance Strategic Center to fill the gap in women´s social justice expertise and research capacity in Jordan and contribute to equality in the region.
4. Employing a bottom-up approach for direct engagement with the communities, particularly women in the southern regions of Jordan through the coming-together “Tawasol” initiative providing the space for local women to meet and discuss (with Al-Nahda Women Network) their challenges, initiatives relevant to linkages with, social cohesion, 1325, and WPS.
