Political Thought

The Nahda brought about new political thought evolving around themes of political participation, constitutionalism, personal freedoms, and women’s rights. In their promotion of a new political order. Nahda proponents viewed the reform of political institutions and structures and the replacement of authoritarian rule with a representative one as a prerequisite to achieve an effective, accountable, and just government which will serve the public interest.

In the last few years, the need for just governments has become ever more important. ARDD will focus on supporting those political voices and initiatives that aim at building inclusive and participatory forms of governments.
