Regulatory Framework for SMEs, Home-based business, Cooperatives and NGOs, for Non-Jordanian nationals

Monday, October 9, 2017

Dignified employment and the expression of entrepreneurial spirit are among the underlying themes behind ARDD’s research partnership with UNHCR. The regulatory framework explores the rights of non-Jordanians, and specifically Syrians, to participate in the nation’s economy through business, cooperatives, or NGOs. Although these three forms require registration prior to starting, ARDD lawyers found that even municipalities lacked a clear implementation of licensing and regulation laws. With few people seeking information about business application requirements, even fewer municipality employees are knowledgeable enough to carry out these unused and undefined procedures. We believe that the right to know your rights is essential for achieving justice, and the first step for entrepreneurial success.
