There is a real need for International intervention to de-escalate the situation
The tensions in the Israeli territories come as a result of Israeli ethnic cleansing practices, the 20-year-old blockade on Gaza, the disrespect to the holy month of Ramadan, and worshippers right to gather and pray
It is to be expected that the Palestinians within the Israeli territories
would rise to support their brothers and sisters in the west bank
This was not acceptable to Israel who unleashed the armed settlers gangs and allowed them to attack harmless protesters in Arab cities and villages in Israel
Many questions arise
Would there be international protection for Palestinians within the Israeli territories – what will happen to them else?
Will ethnic cleansing expand to the Israeli territories?
There’s despair among the Palestinian youth here because of unemployment, discrimination against them in addition to political and economic exclusion they face, 50 percent of Arabs in Israel are under poverty lines. As such they are willing and anxious to defend and support their brothers and sisters and will go to the streets to defend themselves as well. Israeli Police brutality against Palestinian reached a new peak as a young man was killed in Al Lydd
We call for international intervention not only to the cease-fire but also to protect the Palestinians living within the Israeli territories.
