The Arab States CSOs and Feminists Network, including the civil society organizations and the feminist activists affiliated with it, strongly condemn the recent Zionist military aggression on the Gaza Strip. This aggressive military action led to the killing of 253 people, including 39 women, 66 children, and 17 elderly people, and more than 1948 wounded, including 560 children, 380 women, and 91 elderly people. It also led to the displacement of more than 75,000 Palestinians. The Network, moreover, condemns all forms of ongoing violence and criminal acts practiced by the occupation forces against civilian citizens.
Our Arab Feminists Network affirms its rejection of the displacement of Palestinian citizens from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and other neighborhoods, refuses the Judaization of Jerusalem, and asserts its adherence to the just cause of the Palestinian people and their right of return to the homeland as well as the right of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the State of Palestine.
Arab Feminists Network welcomes the decision of the Human Rights Council to form a commission of inquiry and calls on the international community to enable this commission to access and investigate the truth. We also ask the international community to include experts on gender issues to pay special attention to the aggravated suffering endured by women and girls. The Network also calls for the issuance of a clear position statement emphasizing the full rights of the Palestinian people and taking the necessary measures to put an end to the crimes committed by the occupation and prevent their recurrence. We demand that the international community assumes its primary responsibilities under the Charter of the United Nations in maintaining international peace and security by providing protection (Responsibility to Protect) for the Palestinian population under occupation and condemning the Israeli military aggression on the Gaza Strip and the resulting casualties. We also call on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to expedite the investigation process into the war crimes committed by the occupation during its recent aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The Network urges the international community to assume its responsibilities, put an end to violations and prevent their recurrence and rebuild Gaza. In addition, it calls for taking an action-based stance to support the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and return, and to implement humanitarian and human rights initiatives that ensure the Palestinians enjoy their human and basic rights and enable them to share and present their stories and experiences as rights holders; including women and young activists from across the occupied territories.
We affirm our stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemn the Israeli colonial violence as well as the policy of settlement, displacement, and apartheid. We support the protests taking place throughout the Arab world and the world in general in solidarity with the Palestinians’ right to a decent life, land regaining and return to the homeland.
The Network calls on all Arab and international feminist organizations and movements to mobilize efforts and exert pressure on their governments to prevent and hold Israeli violations accountable, provide international protection for Palestinian women, support Palestinian women and women’s organizations that represent them, and enhance and empower their capabilities. We also call on everyone to keep their support to the Palestinian just cause by drawing the world’s attention to the crimes of the occupation and the suffering of the Palestinian people.
We are proud of the valor of the Palestinian people and their relentless determination to resist colonialism and occupation. We also thank all the governments, institutions, organizations, and individuals that have declared their support for the Palestinian people against the occupation and its practices. Our thanks are also extended to all women’s liberation organizations that support the right to self-determination and the cause of liberation for the Palestinian people. The Network calls for action to enforce respect towards the territorial integrity of Palestine and its people and their right to establish an independent and sovereign state where Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine.
