The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), in partnership with the Jordan Businessmen Association (JBA), has launched the 2026 Ethics in Business Award, recognizing the vital role of responsible business leadership in driving economic growth, strengthening resilience, and advancing a more inclusive and sustainable economy in Jordan.
Under this year’s theme, “Strategic Leadership for Growth and Economic Resilience: Leadership Makes a Difference… Business Builds the Future,” the Award celebrates Jordanian companies and business leaders who turn economic challenges into opportunities for innovation, decent employment, and sustainable growth. It highlights leadership that goes beyond financial performance to invest in people, strengthen local economies, and create lasting value for businesses and communities.
Established in 2023, the Award builds on ARDD and JBA’s institutional partnership to advance ethical business practices and strengthen collaboration between civil society and the private sector. The 2026 edition marks a shift from recognition to action, encouraging companies to translate ethical principles into measurable commitments that enhance competitiveness, operational resilience, and sustainable livelihoods.
Aligned with Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision, the Award emphasises good governance, transparency, decent work, responsible supply chains, and economic opportunities for women and youth. It also advances the voluntary Goodwill Declaration, “Towards a Common Goal: Equitable Economic Growth in Jordan,” reinforcing the connection between responsible business conduct, social justice, and economic prosperity.
A key feature of this year’s edition is the provision of free technical assistance, capacity-building, and tailored advisory support by ARDD and JBA, enabling participating companies to turn their commitments into practical improvements that strengthen business performance and long-term sustainability.
Through its Sustainable Livelihoods and Economic Well-being Program, ARDD continues to promote responsible private sector engagement as a cornerstone of inclusive economic development. The Award forms part of the Future Forward: Exploring Opportunities for Local Sustainability Project, supported by the European Regional Development and Protection Programme for Jordan and Lebanon (RDPP III).
The 2026 Award reaffirms that ethical leadership is a strategic investment in Jordan’s future, where business competitiveness, economic resilience, and social well-being advance together.
