Al Nahda Women’s Network that was founded by Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), concluded a series of 8 initiatives in Irbid and Mafraq governorates in September 2019. These Initiative came as part of Empowering Women Participation in Human Operations and Conflict Efforts, “Woman, Security and Peace” project, implemented by ARDD with the support of The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF). 450 women from local communities participated in these initiatives that aimed at showcasing the importance of economic, political and social empowerment of women and enhancing their role in peacebuilding within their own community.
In Irbid, Al Rafeed Women’s Association, held Internet Uses and Threats awareness sessions . Experts from Family Protection Department and Cyber Crime Unit informed the women participants on the right ways of using social media and the dangers of social media misuse ad how this could affect them and their families, in order to decrease the violence that women may face online. Thus, enhancing the legal protection for them and improving their knowledge in order to have an effective role in reducing violence against women and improve their ability to make decisions concerning their own lives and safety.
