Continuing its emergency and relief efforts in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic and in promoting the spirit of solidarity in the holy month, the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), supported by the Islamic Relief France and in partnership with JONAF members: Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, Charitable Child Care Association and Kiram Association distributed food parcels to 1,350 vulnerable Syrian refugee families and host communities most affected by the pandemic in Mafraq.

ARDD launched a campaign funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), to help families in refugee and host communities most affected during the pandemic to prepare for Al Eid. ARDD targeted 860 vulnerable families in Amman, Zarqa, Madaba, Mafraq, Irbid and Karak and distributed support cards to be disbursed from the branches of the Military Consumer Corporation to cover the Eid needs of these families.

The Eid campaign was undertaken in cooperation with members of JONAF including: Madaba Cultural Forum for Childhood, the Jordanian Village Society in Amman and Balqa, Abu Alanda Society for Social Development in Amman, the Karak Castle Association for Consultation and Training and the Society Median Women’s Charitable Society in Karak, Al-Rafid Women’s Agricultural Society, Amal Step Society in Irbid, Ramtha Women’s Association for Social Development in Irbid and Ramtha, and the Charitable Candle Association for the Care of Poor Families in the Northern Jordan Valley, and finally Khawla Bint Al-Azwar in Al Zarqaa.

ARDD has transformed part of its projects and programs to respond to the crisis, and identified four areas of its relief efforts namely: financial aid, medical and health assistance, the distribution of food, in addition to the recent launch of the “Harat Al Ouneh” initiative. These efforts are supported by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), UN Women, the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development, and the Islamic Relief France and are implemented throughout Jordan by ARDD in cooperation with JONAF members throughout Jordan.
