In cooperation with the Community Media Network, ARDD dedicates a daily radio program, video clips and an information resource website in response to COVID-19

The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), in partnership with the Community Media Network, has launched a media campaign that includes video clips and a daily awareness program entitled “Together we will defeat Coronavirus”. With the participation of local community radio stations as part of “Jordan News Network”. In addition to dedicating a website for reliable information sources to for the perusal of Jordanian CSOs and stakeholders to support efforts in responding to this crisis.

ARDD CEO and coordinator of the Jordan NGOs Forum, Samar Muhareb, considered that community awareness is one of the pillars of the response plan. ” We work within a coalition of CSOs and in coordination with INGOs and officials to address the Humanitarian need and in the same time we need to ensure the participation of the community to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and its consequences through changing their lifestyles and applying the directions of health experts and official agencies. “

Ataf Al-Roudhan, director of Radio Al-Balad, said that the campaign’s goal is to communicate accurate and credible information and raise community awareness to protect Jordan from the dangers of the Corona pandemic.

40 episodes have already been broadcasted starting 1st of April till the beginning of Eid Al-Fitr, covering many topics from rejecting stigma and fighting cyber bullying, to labor rights and the rights of groups most affected by the crisis, in addition to highlighting JONAF members’ initiatives and the challenges facing their societies and their determined efforts to respond to the crisis, highlighting the pioneering role of women in responding to crises and UNSCR1325, and important societal issues related to social protection and the protection of women and children during the developments brought about by the crisis among other issues. The program also included episodes also dedicated to psychological support by experts from JONAF member Family Health Care Center, in an effort to address the concerns of society and help them with counseling to cope during the crisis.

Work is also underway to launch videos that contribute to raising public awareness regarding important societal issues and motivate to contribute to overcoming challenges and offering solutions.
