With the start of the new school year, and the costs of education that have become a concern for many families, depriving their children of fair educational opportunities, amid a state of stable incomes, high unemployment rates, high prices, and critical economic conditions for many segments of society.

To emphasize the right to comprehensive and quality education for all members of society, the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), in recent cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, donated various stationery and school bags to public school students in primary and middle grades, in various Jordanian governorates, in a gesture that has a positive impact on societal cohesion, solidarity and cooperation between institutions and individuals together, and the enhancement of community protection.

Although this donation came in limited numbers within the scope of funding, it contributes to lifting the burden of the educational process costs for the most needy groups, according to the standards and data of the Ministry of Social Development and its studies on this context, which also requires focusing on the role of education in developing societies, developing our educational systems in a comprehensive manner that keeps pace with changes, and openness to modern educational methods.

ARDD appreciates this cooperation with the Ministry, stressing that although these campaigns are annual and seasonal, they carry many humanitarian meanings that take into account student’s feelings and the right to obtain study supplies during the academic year, and their right to learn in an equal atmosphere between them and their peers among the students.

In a related context, and within the framework of its educational strategy objectives, ARDD emphasizes the need to follow a comprehensive education approach to and provide continuous learning opportunities, taking into account the challenges facing the education sector that affect students and parents.

For years, ARDD has been emphasizing, through its various programs and diverse dialogues, the importance of enhancing access to good and fair education for all children regardless of their nationality, economic, social, and legal status, especially in early childhood, which is the most important stage in building the child’s personality, analytical abilities and understanding the surrounded world.

According to ARDD’s previous reports, disappointing results were shown regarding the indicators of shared responsibility among all those concerned with the educational process in Jordan, including families, society, students, and education bodies.

These reports also showed that the education crisis in the Arab world is based on poverty, unemployment, wars and conflicts, as 50% of children suffer from learning poverty, which requires developing curricula, teachers’ capabilities and talents, training them, and understanding what children need. Locally, there is a need to review and develop the services provided and their quality in the Ministry of Education, to evaluate the educational reality in the Kingdom, continue dialogue, acknowledge educational problems and develop appropriate solutions to solve them.
