On June 14, 2023, His Excellency Mr. Espen Lindbaek, the Ambassador of Norway in Jordan, visited ARDD premises to discuss the role of national civil society in Jordan, particularly in relation to the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda as outlined in United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325. ARDD showcased its prominent position and efforts in facilitating the national dialogue between the Government and civil society through the National Action Plan in Jordan, led by the National Commission of Women (JNCW) and JONAP. Emphasizing the significance of contextualizing the WPS agenda, ARDD underscored the importance of adapting it to the local context.

During the meeting with the Ambassador, there was a thoughtful discussion regarding the requirements for enhancing the involvement of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in the implementation of JONAP II. ARDD also highlighted its work with youth under UNSCR 2250 within the framework of the WPS agenda. The meeting concluded with the Ambassador expressing his views on the importance of JONAP as the appropriate path for implementing UNSCR 1325 and acknowledging the pivotal role of civil society in this regard.
