The last three months witnessed various developments with regards to the Question of Palestine with the extension of UNRWA’s mandate at United Nations fourth Committee meeting with an overwhelming vote. However, these months registered further escalations on the Palestinian on all fronts,, locally, as attacks and aggressions on the already devastated Gaza Strip continued through the last months: the death toll has reached 35 including children.
Regionally, in Lebanon many Palestinian refugees took to the streets with the Lebanese people with demonstrating against the political regime with no end in sight. Internationally the US has shifted its position on Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, no longer viewing them as inconsistent with international law further undermining the legal framework for the peace process, including the notion of Palestinian national rights and the principle of self-determination.
