The beginning of this year witnessed serious discord following the announcement of ‘Peace to Prosperity, A Vision to Improve the Lives of the Palestinian and Israeli People,’ – also known as the “Deal of the Century” – which U.S. President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu unveiled on 28 January 2020. The proposal entails blatant disrespect for international law, including annexation of all settlements and of the Jordan Valley, the Jerusalem Corridor, the Golan Heights and aspirations that threaten further loss of land and control for Palestinians.
