Education for the Future

Project starting: January 2015

“Education for the Future” aims to promote quality education to Syrian refugee children and Jordanian children, within the context of formal basic education in Jordan. This is to be achieved through the creation of positive learning environments and processes conducive to ensuring enrollment, attendance, and quality learning.

Implemented in partnership with the research foundation Fafo and funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from January 2015 till January 2017, the project targeted Jordanian and Syrian refugee children and parents in Jordan.

The project is mapping current barriers which are preventing Syrian and Jordanian school-aged children from accessing basic opportunities in formal education. It also works on the formulation of tools to encourage active communities of learning among Jordanian and Syrian refugee school-aged children, parents, and schools in order to enhance the quality of education and ensure enrollment and attendance of school-aged children. Researches were developed, and honoring ceremonies for exceptional students were conducted.
