Huna Sotak …Sawt Al Nahda

Project starting: July 2020

Gathering Youth’s Voices

Emphasizing the role of young people in bringing about the desired change and unleashing their voices on topics and issues that affect them and shape their future, “Huna Sotak Sawt Al Nahda” project aims to amplify the voices of youth and enabling them to contribute to achieving positive change in their communities through providing them with a safe platform for youth stimulating dialogue and showcase multiple viewpoints regarding various topics and provide an outlet for the youth to voice their concerns, perceptions, and grievances constructively.

This project will equip 45 youth in Syrian refugee and host communities in Jordan with practical knowledge and skills enabling them to actively engage in dialogue that encourage mutual understanding and nurturing social cohesion in their communities.

Through specialized training, these youth will also acquire the journalistic and media skills needed to contribute to the youth voices platform, “Huna Sotak.. Sawt Al Nahda” website.

To further engage youth and promote the importance of their contributions, #AlNahdaYouth Contest for Social Journalism was conducted to encourage youth to voice out to the issues they are facing and to play a role in their communities through addressing issues of refuges, women, youth, and social cohesion.

The project comes inline with the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD)’s youth enablement and social cohesion programs and as part of its efforts to ensure the right of information and freedom of speech, and is implemented in partnership with RNW Media starting July 2020 till December 2020.

RNW Media is an international organization based in the Netherlands to build digital communities for social change, and to create online platforms for which we design content, engagement and moderation strategies.
