āVoiceā project aims to highlight refugeesā voices as active agents of change rather than passive recipients of aid. The project empowers refugees to express their needs, aspirations, and stories in their own words. History is documented through storytelling and engaging national and international actors to hear and address Syrian refugeesā concerns.
Implemented in partnership with Oxfam GB, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sida, from July 2013 ā till December 2015, the āVoiceā project was executed in Amman and Mafraq and has expanded into Zarqa and it focuses on urban refugees.
Voice has four components: Community Building, Resource Access, Advocacy, and Legal Protection.
The project goals are achieved through legal awareness-raising sessions, pro-bono legal services, capacity building training, empowerment sessions, and multi-level advocacy and awareness-raising.
