āWomen Peace and Securityā is a project that focuses on peace transformation and social change from a womanās perspective. It encourages the inclusion of Syrian and host community women in peace and security processes, with a particular focus on Female Heads of Households.
The project is implemented in alignment with the Jordanian National Action Plan for the application of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, and aims to enhance womenās engagement in humanitarian and conflict management processes by strengthening their protection and building their capacity to become active members in society.
Implemented by ARDD in the governorates of Mafraq and Irbid from December 2017 till September 2019, and funded by Womenās Peace Humanitarian Fund, the project fosters gender equality, dialogue, and active participation through conducting activities related to legal empowerment, psychosocial support, training in conflict management, and capacity building workshops on both the individual and community levels.
