Good governance means permitting the public the opportunity to be involved in planning, organizing and critiquing government proposals, strategies, and rollouts, hence making governance more inclusive and accountable to societies.
The Arab world however faces a significant deficit in strong civil society institutions to ensure good governance and accountability. ARDD therefore furthermore helps capacity build Community Based Organizations (CBOs) ability to engage the public on socio-political issues and interact productively with the public sector.
As a civil society organization which works at the community level ARDD makes governance information widely available and comprehensible through online publishing on briefs, conducts advocacy-based research within communities to gain public feedback of policy, runs civic engagement projects to encourage people (especially women and young people) to become civically engaged in shaping their society both at a local community level as a volunteer or local advocate and at a wider societal level through campaigning and running for office.
Additionally supports local community members navigate the legal frameworks to set up new CBOs and campaigns free of charge.
