Women´s Access to Justice (WAJ)

Achieving gender justice is one of the most difficult challenges facing women in the Arab region. Despite the important role of progressive men and activists in supporting this justice, it is not enough to eliminate gender-based injustices. Female populations of the Arab world have a disproportionately low level of social, economic and political influence in decision making in civil society and government.

In order to achieve gender justice, Arab women must gain more representation that would enable them to combat injustices and discrimination against them, by activating their social, economic, political and civic participation, as well as having men supporting them in addition to policies and programs to promote women’s social inclusion and equality with men in rights and duties.

The Arab Nahda (renaissance) is a common intellectual and societal act and comes as the result of women’s participation in the aspired human civilizational renaissance.

ARDD’s initiatives and programs seek to achieve gender participation and justice to empower women and girls to contribute to building a more just and prosperous Arab region for all.
