As an organization, ARDD has been instrumental in improving access to legal advice and provision through the active promotion and provision of legal aid support in Jordan. This has enabled many of society’s most vulnerable, including refugees, migrants, and economically disadvantaged citizens to receive legal support.
ARDD has furthermore publicly published about and been an outspoken proponent for justice sector development. This has included advocating for an end to legal discrimination against women and critiquing legal amendments which threaten the integrity of the news media and safety of journalists.
To increase awareness of public perceptions of the need for justice reform ARDD has furthermore conducted research and published on public perceptions of the justice sector in Jordan, particularly regarding corruption such as Wastah (nepotism within the judiciary process). ARDD has evidenced the need to openly debate justice reform and make the justice sector more accountable to the public.
